The weekly recap: October 5 | Honking for donuts

At Hyland, Fridays mean donuts. Or doughnuts, depending on how you roll. I love donuts, but I work remotely, so … there were no donuts waiting on my desk this morning.

Now you’re thinking, “Hey, maybe I’ll send Scoop some donuts!”

That’s a great idea! But let me go on the record: I don’t go for those highfalutin lightweight donuts or anything experimental.

Nope. I want a straightforward donut-like donut that has some heft to it. Like a miniature double-chocolate pound cake. Or two pounds, whatever you’ve got.

If I drop my donut on my foot, I want to feel it.

Apparently, Blanchardstown, Ireland, disagrees. But we’ll get to that later.

In the meantime, here’s what was happening on the Hyland side of town.

The Hyland Blog

  • It’s back! This edition of 2 truths and 1 lie focuses on the hot topic of robotic process automation.

Think you know what statement is a lie? Take a look and find out!

  • How can you improve your healthcare organization’s bottom line?

One way is by making it easier to share medical documentation during the transition of care with referral sources.

  • Speaking of making documentation easier to share, Western Governors University recently adopted ShareBase to utilize cloud-based secure file sharing instead of emails, improving the processes around sensitive student information.

Fav thing o’ the week

  • As promised, now we’re going to dive even deeper into donuts. Like the fact that donuts with filling aren’t real donuts. I don’t know, it feels like teaching your dog to walk on its hind legs.

Somethin’ just ain’t right.

Regardless, check out this crazy video of the longest drive-through line I’ve ever seen. Apparently, a donut shop in Blanchardstown, Ireland, used to offer overnight drive-through service. Naturally, there were huge lines of people in cars honking their horns like they’re Lionel Richie – all night long – preventing the unfortunate folks who live nearby from sleeping. So the donut shop cancelled the all-night service, forcing patrons to honk all-day long.

Because donuts.

That’s it. Have a great weekend!
