The weekly recap: Friday the 13th!

Uh oh, it’s Friday the 13th. You know what that means – stay away from Camp Crystal Lake!

Did you know there’s actually a term for the fear of Friday the 13th? It’s called friggatriskaidekaphobia, in reference to the Norse goddess of wisdom. Don’t worry, I don’t get the connection either.

Here’s what we were up to this week, as we prepared for the possibility of the Norse goddess of wisdom descending from above and freaking everyone out.

The Hyland Blog

  • Earlier this week, Bill Priemer – Hyland’s CEO and president – spoke at Kyocera’s annual partner event, Innovate 2018. He noted that 87 percent of organizations are either planning, or are in the midst of, digital transformation initiatives, according to AIIM.

“And, for the 13 percent that haven’t yet recognized the need,” said Priemer, “it’s only a matter of time.”

  • This week, the Association for Intelligent Information Management (AIIM) held AIIM18, its annual conference. Katie Alberti attended the keynote speech and wrote a great piece detailing how AIIM is driving digital transformation initiatives forward.

It’s an important topic, as 53 percent of respondents in a recent AIIM survey said they are concerned about a serious disruption in their business model within the next two years. Clearly, it’s time to disrupt or be disrupted.

  • In the healthcare industry, your Five-Star Quality Rating can make or break you. It’s public knowledge and everyone knows where to find it.

Scott Magers details how using content services can help your organization improve the quality of resident care, effect health inspection data, and make a positive impact on staffing – all of which improves your rating.
