The weekly recap: August 17 | Iceland, hot dogs, waterfalls

Now that I’m back, I’m assuming some of you want to hear about Iceland. And you’re inquisitive about that innovative cuisine they call the Icelandic hot dog.

I assure you, we’ll get there. But first, I want to mention that we have a scant – yes, scant – 23 days left until CommunityLIVE.

That’s right, a little bit more than three weeks is all that separates more than 2,000 of us from what will be one of our best learning experiences of the year. I’ll see you there, right?

First the news, then the dogs.

The Hyland Blog

  • Is your organization struggling with complicated, multi-step accounts payable processes requiring e-forms, approvals, notifications, and receipt tracking?

Just looking at all those words makes me ready to tap out. But there’s hope!

Check out how Discovery Benefits Inc. uses ShareBase to streamline and cure the pain of AP processing.

  • This week, our Veteran Hylite series returned, featuring Alex Bell.

A former Army Reserve member serving on the Psychological Operations team and a current Tech Support Analyst at Hyland, Alex shares some lessons he learned in the service that have helped him find success in his civilian career.

Are we talking about CommunityLIVE or an Ed Wood movie? With more than 90-plus sessions related to Perceptive, it seems less like an invasion and more like … oh, I don’t know … one of the best learning experiences of the year.

My fav thing of the week: No more fish!

Seriously. I just googled omega-3 fatty acids and the first result was a picture of me.

Overall, Icelanders are wonderful people. And the country has some fine waterfalls. But I’m a warm-weather guy, so I think the next time I’m hankering for a hot dog, I’ll head south to Cuba!

That’s it. Hope you had a great week and have a wonderful weekend!
