March Madness and document imaging: 3 ways to predict success

It’s truly Madness! What is it about this time of year that gets almost everyone into a near frenzy as we march toward the Final Four in the NCAA Basketball tournament?

Is it the gleeful thrill of watching the favorite hop from bracket to bracket? (Go Dayton Flyers!) Is it the rush of seeing the underdog perform as if reborn, and win against all odds? Is it the sense of satisfaction and astuteness we feel when we accurately predict the winners?

What is really interesting is that so many of us who eagerly participate in the madness try to harness the unpredictable nature and the multitude of moving parts by analyzing the odds and creating predictive models.

Gaining control over complexity

It makes us feel better to have some control over something that matters so much. Well, it makes me feel better, anyway. As a person intrigued by data models who practices harnessing control over complicated business processes for our customers, I know that this instinct works in business, whether it’s finance, insurance, government, higher education or healthcare.

And it makes organizations run better, and achieve their goals faster.

Whether migrating from a legacy system to OnBase, extending capabilities of existing systems using ECM or implementing a capture strategy that begins with large-volume paper document scanning, most organizations want to support their critical processes first, without interrupting business cycles. This is common and with the right strategy and support, you can leverage earlier solution rollouts to support each subsequent department or function in the priority list.
