Enterprise solution advice for healthcare organizations
Road trips can be a lot of fun, especially when they include visiting customers and seeing so many friendly faces! Last week brought me (and a handful of other Hylanders) to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where Novant Health hosted our Mid-Atlantic OnBase + Epic User Forum. There were 46 customers in attendance, along with representatives from our partner Fujitsu and sponsor CoverMyMeds.
The agenda was packed with highlights about current solutions available, in addition to roadmap solutions that nicely complement enterprise visions. We also baked in sessions that gave attendees the tools and insight to set strategies and organize their visions, as well as tips and tricks to get there.
If you couldn’t make it to the forum, don’t worry, here’s some of what you missed.
Integrations and opportunities
We kicked off the morning with best practices for OnBase and Epic healthcare software integrations, discussing how these robust integrations deliver the right information to the right people at the right time. We also talked about how part of an enterprise vision includes utilizing a single platform for one point of integration, that way, you reduce IT sprawl and information silos.
Next, we talked about how MyOnBasePlanner can bring value to your organization. I couldn’t believe how many organizations have not taken the opportunity to start leveraging this awesome tool! The application lets you view the full breadth of solutions that our enterprise content management (ECM) system offers.
With a few clicks, you can seamlessly see which solutions you already own, in addition to other available solutions that will enable you to maximize your investment by optimizing processes across your enterprise. It’s really a great tool, and I really encourage you to check it out.
Mobile integrated healthcare
But it wasn’t us doing all the talking. Cone Health shared how the OnBase for Epic integration creates one complete patient record. This led nicely into the Mobility in Healthcare presentation, as one of Cone Health’s future roadmap solutions is our OnBase Integration for Epic Haiku/Canto.
By extending OnBase to a mobile environment, users have access to the content they need, when they need it, wherever they are. In fact, I demoed offerings that improve document and signature-intensive processes, such as patient and bedside registration to improve the patient experience, speed the registration process and reduce administrative costs. After that, we talked about solutions for clinical care.
If you haven’t seen these offerings, you should definitely contact your account manager to set something up today. We have such robust enterprise mobile solutions that I can’t say enough good things about them!
During lunch, I had the opportunity to catch up with Kim Harrison, my dear friend from Novant Health who has always been such a pleasure to work with. The rest of the afternoon was packed with content about what’s on our combined OnBase/Epic roadmap with development also highlighting and showing some of the newer features in OnBase Patient Window, Universal Scope Capture, our VNA and ShareBase.
But it’s not about the products. They’re simply a means to help your healthcare organization operate more efficiently, so you can focus on your patients. Because that’s what it’s all about.
A window into patient information
After Novant Health highlighted its current implementation of the OnBase Patient Window, which unifies all clinical content and provides secure access through your EMR, we made sure the audience was aware of the new cloud-based support for OnBase VNA in OnBase16.
Next, we talked about how our enterprise file sync and share solution can organize the content in your organization in a manageable state for you (and your employees). If you’re looking to automate sharing and empower your users while retaining full control over information, you should definitely check it out.
I would highly encourage you to look for updates and proactively reach out to your account manager to start planning your schedule to attend a future event near you. These are my most favorite healthcare events and I hope they might one day be yours too!
