Shaking, surfing and evolving at #CommunityLIVE

It all started with a shake – a character-filled, Vegas-style, had to be there to believe it “Harlem Shake,” to be precise.

And the momentum continued throughout the keynote speeches for day two’s general session at CommunityLIVE, as two executives from Hyland, creator of OnBase, urged customers to continue to move and evolve by taking advantage of exciting opportunities to further their solutions.

“We’re in the midst of an information explosion,” said Ed McQuiston, vice president of global sales, as he opened the session. “The volume and definition of information has changed dramatically, and so have the expectations of users who want to consume that information.”

That’s why it’s so important that OnBase has kept pace with this evolution while helping organizations consolidate their sprawling applications.

McQuiston pointed to the over 3,500 organizations that have been OnBase customers for 10 or more years. They have been able to grow their information management platforms to meet increasing needs and changing requirements with things like cutting-edge capture, ECM, mobile functionality, case management capabilities and cloud-based offerings.

To showcase the application of these innovative advances, McQuiston also continued the saga of Obie, the fictional figure introduced at last year’s user conference, whose life has been impacted in big ways by OnBase. Chapter two of Obie’s story focused on his professional life and shared how OnBase played a role in the daily operations of his company, with solutions both inside and outside the company walls – from contract management to HR applicant tracking to integrations for Guidewire, Duck Creek and DocuSign.

Next up on the stage was Hyland’s Chief Technology Officer, Miguel Zubizarreta, who put a maritime spin on this week’s innovation theme by encouraging organizations to “jump to the next wave” when it comes to their solutions.

For some organizations, that next wave could be adopting an entirely new application or extending their solutions to a larger range of users. For others, the wave could be leveraging new and transformative technologies to transform a single process or their entire enterprises.

From the first shake to the last wave, the OnBase community got a chance to envision the possibilities of where their solutions can go and the vessels that will help take them there.
