Hyland interns share their professional experience

interns 2015
Throughout the summer, you’re going to get to know some of the wonderful students who will be participating in our Hyland Software internship program. We’re happy to announce that just like last year, our interns have accepted our challenge and will be blogging about life at Hyland all summer long!

What they write about will be a surprise to all of us because we didn’t assign any topics. We want them to write about their experiences – from tackling the creative projects and collaborative work they do every day, to networking with and meeting new people.

It could be anything: Shadowing an executive for a day, learning about software engineering or playing a killer game of badminton in the Atrium during a break.

What it’s like to work as a Hyland intern

Strengthening you in just about every way, a summer internship at Hyland will teach you more than you may think possible.

As an intern, you work to drive results and help us achieve its company-wide goals. Projects range from designing new software platforms to expanding your knowledge into software sales – or even creating our cycling team’s jerseys.

You’ll be learning throughout the entire program, with additional opportunities like:

  • Weekly Wednesday Lunches that gather randomly selected interns to meet and build relationships with other interns.
  • Passport Networking Sessions that give interns the chance to meet with members of Hyland’s executive team and learn about the organization and the business as a whole.
  • Mentors who will help guide you through the program.

What it’s like to play as a Hyland intern

As if the daily thrills and invaluable work experiences are not enough, we organize a variety of events for interns to have fun, engage with their peers, and help the community, providing a solid work-life balance.

Events like a welcome party at a Cleveland Indians’ game, an intern day of community service, and, of course, a farewell party.

Our summer internship program runs May through August, so you’ll start seeing the blog posts soon. If an internship at Hyland sounds like something you’re interested in, start looking for your opportunity today.

My name is Tyler Reed and I am a student at the University of Akron. I am currently working on a research project about how to build a good Internship Program. My partner, Andrew Dawson, and I came across this blog and we were wondering if there was any chance that we could meet with the person leading the Internship Program at Hyland?
